Black Elders Mural

A collaborative mobile mural commissioned by Pink Flamingo. I painted this mural in late 2021 with talented artist and educator Elsa Robinson. This mural will be on display at multiple public locations in Calgary and Alberta for the next 5 years or more.
In the mural we wish to pay homage to Elders from the black community - their fortitude, their perseverance, their ability to overcome obstacles, their dedication to working as partners in building Alberta, and their contributions in a variety of professional roles to the development of this province.

The mural was painted with acrylic and we also glued over 400 cowrie shells on the board.
